Betty Killeen graduated from University of Limerick with an MA in Music Therapy (first class honours) in 2022 and a BA in Voice and Dance in 2017. She also graduated from University of East London in 2019 with a Masters in Music Performance. Betty taught singing lessons to children and young adults with Hampstead music school and W.K.M.T. music school, both based in North London.
Betty has taught English as a Second Language (ESL) to all ages and abilities in Canada, Switzerland and Dublin after she completed her Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) Certificate in 2018. Her work experience extends from working in the retail sector to hospitality sector and over the past year working as a Music Therapist in the Methodist Homes Association in London delivering music therapy to older adults with dementia.
Drawing on her expertise in teaching and her BA and MMUS, Betty hopes to work in a secondary school setting teaching music to young adults. Her vast experience with preparing lesson plans for students of all ages and abilities will allow Betty to excel in this career. Betty is a multi-instrumentalist, playing the guitar, piano and singing.
