I recently graduated from Exeter University after achieving first class honours in a master of science with honours in computer science and mathematics. I am aspiring to pursue a career in software engineering or data science that provides a service of a greater good.
I am ambitious, hardworking and passionate about technology. Observing the research at Exeter University, I have come to a concrete understand about how technological products and software can really help people that really require aid. Therefore it is my eventual aim to one day be involved in projects where the work I am doing would eventually help people that have been suffering for far too long.
I am currently studying for a bachelors in Mathematics and Computer Science. The modules I have undertaken have allowed me to nurture my programming skills in Python, Java and MATLAB. I also have brief experiences of using Haskell, Prolog, HTML, SQL and Latex. Out of these languages, Python is the language I have the most experience with, after using frameworks like Flask and Django.
Your company will see me excel when I work collaboratively with others . I have been fortunate to work with some other great minds in group projects during my time at university. The prospect of working with industrial professionals is an idea that greatly motivates me, as I am keen to enhance my skillset and problem solving approaches so I can fill the shoes of these great minds in the coming years.
I would also love the opportunity to pass my knowledge onto other people as I believe teaching people is an invaluable experience.
Backend Engineer at Hatless Studios
I use Python and Django to develop the API endpoints of web and mobile applications in agile development projects. Throughout the progression of projects, I have utilized
GitHub for version control. Thus far, I have created Django models and reviewed other Django models created.
Responsible for teaching basic python skills to groups of students remotely. Outside of lesson time I have to learn the material I will be teaching, and create appropriate learning methods that will enable the students to grasp the material. Moreover I have to mark the students' weekly homework and provide feedback on their quality of their work and understanding of material.
Further to the point if students have queries outside of lesson time I have to directly deal with these either by messaging or possibly a direct call. I am really enjoying being a significant part of young peoples early steps in their educational career.
