(2025-11)
Allocating myself with a variety of parcels with different forms of media and technology to test, and adding the work onto my work hub, ensuring I am able to meet my daily targets depending on the workload in each parcel.
- Understanding of the basics of visual testing, ensuring there are no cracks on hardware like phones or consoles, and changing the grading on certain items like headphones if the quality of the product is poor, such as the amount of scratches on a headphones case, or if the item has come with or without its box.
- Ensuring the games, blu-rays and phones sent in are in the correct region and are PEGI or BBFC rated, as we did not buy in American region rated games, or any phones from counties not in Europe.
- Taking down Serial Numbers and IMEIs from all products that provided one, ensuring that they passed our Mobicode check, and kept note of it on our work hub and had not been reported stolen or network locked.
- Checking certain hardware like smart assistants, Apple accessories and Phones or tablets for any leftover customer information; making sure all of it was deleted through a factory reset, and if a item required a password or account removal, and email would be sent to the customer to request the login information or account removal so we can fully reset the product and sell it, or return is to the customer if they wish to removal it themselves.
- Safely packing tested items if they are being returned to the customer with hex wrap and packing paper to reduce damage during delivery and ensuring any accessories with the product like chargers are returned too.
- Making sure any passed items are packaged together by their order number, and safely taken to the next department.
- Shredding any customer data left inside packages like slips of paper with their information on, and using a black marker if it's on cardboard or a parcel label.
- Pairing the right hardware with the correct accessories such as consoles having the correct power leads, and controllers and phones having the correct plugs and cables like a USB C or a Micro USB; and if required, emailing the customer to supply the accessory such as a replacement controller as we do not supply them.
- Ensuring a tidy workplace at all times to make sure items are not lost, and there is enough space to work with all varieties of items.
- Identifying fake products through visual testing or magnetic testing such as Apple Max Airpods being plastic or Samsung earphones having wrong fonts.
- Cutting down cardboard using a box cutting knife and folding it down so it is easily recycled and stored in trolleys to be taken outside.
