About

I am a dedicated, motivated and organised first year university student with a strong passion for International Relations. I have excellent time management skills and a proactive attitude; I also thrive in both an academic and extracurricular environment with activities like swimming and attending many societies at such as Debate society and Model United Nations society. My experience of swim teaching whilst also studying has shown that I am a quick learner who always brings enthusiasm and attention to detail to the tasks I am undertaking.

Experience

Swimming Teacher / Level 2 Swimming Teacher at Hertfordshire Sports Village (2024-10 – Present)

In 2024, I was offered a position as a swimming assistant at the Hertfordshire Sports Village after doing work experience there. After proving myself there, I was able to move up the ranks to become a Level 2 swimming teacher. This part-time job has taught me the importance of being responsible and how to adapt my approach to different needs.

During a work experience week offered by Parmiters, I was able to experience working at the Hertfordshire Sports Village. I was tasked with managing many different areas of the Village from doing admin work to being an assistant to the swimming teachers helping young swimmers feel more confident in the water. This work experience has enabled me to learn many skills like better communication when explaining complex techniques in simple clear terms to swimmers, problem solving by adapting lesson to suit the swimmers, time management by balancing the needs of multiple swimmer in a group setting and attention to detail by monitoring technique and safety to swimmers.
