Since graduating from my 3-year BA Honours in Drawing and Print 12 months ago, I have been working and travelling in Central America and Europe.
My art practice has centred around painterly abstraction issues since the middle of my first year. I am interested in abstract mark-making and creating texture. I see painting as a global activity, not just in Great Britain.
Its breadth, diversity and cultural textures extensively feed into my practice. My work revolves around the hand-making process of mark-making, which strengthens humanity within painting. I work mainly with mixed media on canvas and paper, incorporating a strong sense of drawing in my paintings through text, different drawing mediums and some printmaking techniques such as Monoprint.
Illustration features heavily throughout my work, enabling me to tell a story and connect with my viewers.
Alongside my studies, I have had seven years of experience with the public working in community pharmacy and hospitality jobs. I have gained many people skills and been involved in collaborative work opportunities during these roles, which are transferable to further employment.
I am an approachable, positive individual passionate about working with fellow creatives. I have recently showcased my work in two exciting exhibitions. Alongside having featured work, I also helped curate the exhibition with fellow third-year students.
