Catherine Lee

I'm Cathy, 32 years old living in Rochester with my partner and our cocker spaniel Daphne! I have always loved working with children and families, and I am mainly passionate about safeguarding and prevention of harm. Over the last few years in my most recent role, I have begun to specialise in working predominantly with young girls at risk of sexual exploitation and harmful relationships.

I have been working for the past 5 years in the local authority as a case holder for adolescents aged 12-17 at risk of contextual harm, including missing episodes, offending behaviours and risk of sexual exploitation. The majority of my caseload is girls at risk of sexual harm due to unsafe online presence and/or unhealthy relationships, and this is my main interest in this role.

Before this role, I was a special educational needs teaching assistant and worked with children from 5-16.

I have a First Class degree in Childhood and Youth Studies, including child development and sociology of childhood.

Throughout my most recent role, I have undertaken a number of professional development training courses, including speech and language toolkits, contextual safeguarding, prevent training - incel culture.
