Personal Assistant - Dudley Children's Services
(2022-09)
PA to a 7-year-old boy who has Down syndrome, PDA, and Autism. A non-speaking child for whom PECS is used to communicate. Contracted through Dudley Children's Services to do direct payments for 4 hours per week.
- Full personal care.
- Collect him from his special education school each week and have him on a 1-1 basis, taking him to the park, swimming, and SEN sessions at a local centre.
- Take care of all his needs and have on several occasions put him to bed whilst the family is out with his siblings.

- Setting work out daily to be completed due to the young person not being on the national curriculum.
- Setting strict boundaries within the classroom to quickly de-escalate the highly aggressive behaviour portrayed by the young person.
- Developing strategies to work with the young person who has ASD and ADHD and is highly anxious and portrays separation issues.
- Working with speech and language therapists, behavioural therapists, and many other professionals to further his care and progress within school.
Support Worker - Wrixon Care Services

- Secure transports with young people from secure units to court/hospital/supervision centres.
- Hospital bed watches.
- Extra support in residential settings.
- Unit support in several secure units across the UK. Supporting staff within the unit, building relationships with the young people and maintaining the security of the unit itself.
- Home support with complex mental health needs and extreme behaviour issues, which results in working with all emergency services and mental health teams across the UK.
- Appropriate adult services within custodial settings.
- 24/7 supervision.
- Writing and reviewing legal documentation such as PER forms (Person escort record), DOLS orders (Deprivation of liberties), and secure order forms.
- Working closely with social workers, police officers, and court staff, and working within police stations and magistrates'/crown courts.
