My name is Charlotte Blazier, I have recently graduated University with a First Class degree in BA (Hons) Textile Design. I am currently looking for work in a creative, friendly environment. As a textile designer and maker I am eager to pursue a creative job, either in textiles, heritage, education, retail or hospitality. I am very open minded and am eager to take any opportunities that come my way. I have experience working in a retail and hospitality environment and public facing roles.
I have experience working in retail as a front of house at the Museum of Carpet. My role at the museum was very open, although I was a front of house team member, I also worked creatively, giving handloom demonstrations, making woven and crochet items for the gift shop, hosting weaving and crochet workshops, working events and oiling the power looms.
I currently work as a Food and Beverage Team Leader at National Trust property Hanbury Hall, which involves working in a restaurant/ café setting, running the shifts. I also have worked part time as a waitress at the Running Horse Inn for 4 years.
I have lots of volunteering experience, having volunteered at the Museum of Carpet as a hand loom demonstrator before my job there. I volunteered at a contemporary craft charity organisation called Craftspace where I helped out with community craft workshops, as well as volunteering at Primary schools and rainbows clubs.
