Responsibilities included

• Initially overseeing the opening of a new Asphalt plant and for ongoing management of production at this site
• Meeting monthly production targets along with the company sales teams, whilst keeping within the allocated maintenance budget
• Site Health and safety for staff and customers and visitors
• Procuring spare parts and raw materials to ensure production and arranging external maintenance as and when required
• Recruitment, initial training and ongoing training of plant staff
• Covering for staff where required due to sickness, holidays etc.

Assistant Manager - Cemex

Assistant Shift Manager at Hard Rock Quarry with responsibility for one of 3 shifts to the Site Manager for day to day running of the quarry and production plant. This included liaising with the different departments for maintenance, spare parts etc. Responsibilities included:

• Site health and safety for staff, customers and visitors
• Recruitment, initial training and ongoing training of plant staff
• Ensuring staff cover when required

Plant Operative - Cemex

(1998-01 - 2014-12)

Worked at various locations as a plant operative at sand and gravel sites, including 2 years at a concrete plant. This was generally a hands-on role operating mobile plant, such as loading shovels, hydraulic excavators and also mixing concrete at a batching plant. This role also included general site maintenance and housekeeping duties.
