Connor Horn

I am a graduate of Wolverhampton University in psychology; my degree has capabilities in many different job areas and be used in a variety of ways. Areas and skills that it intertwines with and developed are, advertising, branding and media, writing and journalism, marketing, research, analytics, statistics, sales, performance, casting, booking, maths and science and research. My hobbies and my own working experiences of many years in retail, events, restaurants and performance/media. (Film, Television, Stage) support this and has given me many crucial skills and strong overall management abilities and combinations of skills.

Because of this I would be suitable for entry level and graduate jobs in the fields of Researcher/Psychological assistant, Sports, Advertisement and media and events.

Volunteer - Volunteering

(2025-01)

Frequently volunteered to assist in various media projects, collaborating with different teams. My contributions have ranged from sharing writing and directing ideas and implementing them to being actively involved in front of the camera. I have also offered my services in coaching and training for sports and fitness, working with clients of various ages in gym routines and martial arts and greatly improving their skills.

I have done admin work for small businesses, and I am committed to continuing my volunteer efforts.

Sales - River Island

• Utilized excellent customer service skills and electronics and different systems of sales, returns, Phone systems and calls. Updated with store intranet, deliveries and stock to handle inquiries and resolve issues, maintaining or improving customer satisfaction. Responsible person duties and management level tasks.
• Collaborated with team members in multiple sized groups or leading and trained new members in all areas to then be able to help or to streamline inventory processes, data input, upselling and handling of stock and overall quality control, reducing stock discrepancies, ensuring accurate product availability for customers.
• Implemented effective visual merchandising and branding strategies, involving advertisement and marketing and the creating and changing of displays and layouts. As well as being an ambassador/model as items were picked for uniform as a selling tool and to represent the brand, attracting new customers to the store, upselling and personally improving sales through that personal flair of branding.

Performer/Writer - Alan Sharman agency/JLH Arts agency

• Collaborated with a team of writers and performers to create original content for web series, theatre and research and development for plays. working on different time scales, making bold choices, adaptability and high levels of creativity. working in front of and behind the camera playing characters and performing.
• Implemented innovative editing techniques to enhance the visual appeal of different forms of media including my own personal YouTube channel/web content creation, social media planning and to my writing also to help further my overall skills in the field. Which has been successful in social media growth and the demand for collaboration. Using and organising mail/email and lists for inquires and collaborations.
• Made use of advertisement and marketing of and for the projects and producing of the content/sequences/editing/projects. Including own freelance work on videos projects and their development and writing variety of material and assistance on other written works and storytelling.
• Employed as a barman and kitchen staff/server, and function staff. Regularly worked functions within events area i.e., weddings, parties and company dining (awards) and the variety they come in. Silver service.
• Dealing with emotional intelligence, hosting, venue design, creative adaptability and timing efficiency.

Server - Coals Bar and Grill

(2014-11 - 2015-11)

• Employed as a waiter/runner, dealing with taking food and drink orders quickly and correctly, serving and taking payments. Personally, ensuring full sections and repeat custom. Lead floor server when required.
• Hosted (front of house) and helped with bar work and regularly dealt with large parties (30+) of all ages. Increasing upselling of menu items and the amount of speciality drinks consumed.
• Note taking and shorthand writing. Ledge able enough for other staff to read and use.

Coach/tutor - Martial Arts dojo

Coached kickboxing to young children four and upwards. Using physical, mental and teaching skills, specially structured games that involved teamwork, discipline, organisation and good communicating/presenting skills. Strategic planning, stock control inventories, reception work, student registration and payment. Management of students and other management level tasks.
