A highly motivated and results oriented individual, currently pursuing a master’s degree in Human Resources Management at the University of Birmingham. I bring a strong academic background with a 2:1 Bachelor's degree in English and Philosophy from Nottingham Trent University.
I have previous experience in recruitment and interviewing, with a proven track record of conducting numerous successful interviews. My experience in fast-paced, demanding environments has honed my adaptability, resilience, and strong work ethic - key skills in a career in HR.
I have extensive experience in event stewarding and recruitment, which has equipped me with valuable skills for a Human Resources role. I worked at Sierra 1 Security Stewarding Ltd from November 2021 - March 2024, I managed high-profile events, ensuring safety and handling emergencies, which honed my problem-solving and organizational abilities. I worked in a recruitment role from October 2021 - March 2023, I conducted interviews, selected candidates, where I developed strong judgment, decision-making, and recruitment strategies.
My experience has also strengthened my communication and interpersonal skills, essential for interacting with diverse groups and maintaining a positive work environment. Furthermore, I also volunteered at a disabled horse riding school for approx. 7 years, where I worked with individuals with various mental and physical disabilities. Where I learnt to build a strong rapport and trust with diverse individuals, using positive language and effective listening.
I have a strong educational background relevant to Human Resources. I completed my A-Levels in Psychology, Philosophy and Ethics, and English Literature, which provided a solid foundation in understanding human behavior and ethical considerations. I earned a 2:1 in English and Philosophy from Nottingham Trent University, where my dissertation explored psychoanalytic perspectives in literature, enhancing my analytical and critical thinking skills.
Currently, I am pursuing an MSc in Human Resources Management at the University of Birmingham, focusing on HR theories, workforce planning, recruitment, and employee development. I am particularly interested in modules on managing equality and diversity, and leadership and development, which will equip me with the skills to handle conflicts, grievances, and lead with integrity.
