About

I am a hardworking individual and a fast learner. I have worked for the last few years as a lone worker, so I have a proven track record of using initiative and self-motivation. I have a strong academic background, having achieved a first class honours in Forensic Psychology and currently completing a masters in Mental Health Sciences. All of these have been completed part-time, so managing my time and work load is something I'm familiar snd comfortable with. I have had several jobs in customer service, where I have gained experience with dealing with the general public, always delivering a high standard of service.

I support individuals with varying mental health needs, helping to build their independence and confidence and working with them in order to improve both their mental health and wellbeing, and encourage autonomy.
I have several responsibilities such as; handling and administering medication safely and effectively, understanding and implementing the Recovery Star model, helping tenants to rate and understand their mental health and evaluate their progress, conducting one to one’s with tenants, discussing and exploring ways of improving their mental wellbeing, supporting tenants with personal care. I have also regularly worked nights, I have been the only staff member on site, this has meant that I have had to remain calm in difficult situations.

I am currently in my final year of completing my masters. I have thoroughly this course and it has lead to an increased interest in biology. It has again given me chance to improve my time management skills with meeting strict dealines, but has also given me the opportunity to improve my research skills, as the modules and my dissertation have required me to learn and understand the pathology underlying many mental health issues, such as schizophrenia, depression, dementia and anxiety.

I recently completed my Level 4 in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I found the course really interesting, and gained experience both of online counselling and counselling face to face. Both had a very different feel to them and led to me utilising a full range of counselling and therapeutic techniques.
