Daniel Law

I am an illustrator and graduate from Sheffield Hallam University, currently working freelance and looking for a job in the design industry. I have a variety of commissions under my belt, having worked on album art, character design, shirts, merchandise, storyboarding, graphic design, logos, and more. With great experience in traditional and digital media, my work specialises in surreal, psychedelic, and often comical designs with a versatile style and a keen eye for detail.

Since graduating from university, I have worked freelance with 4 years of experience and have taken on a number of projects for clients. My work includes commissioned designs from people who have discovered my profile online, bands and people from the music industry, collabs with graphic designers, and designs I produced and sold myself as merchandise.

I am experienced in pen and ink, Photoshop, Illustrator, digital painting and most traditional media. My illustration is adaptable to many styles and I am well practiced in drawing a wide variety of subject matter, such as anatomy, landscapes, etc. I make expressive and highly stylised pen and ink drawings and would describe my practice as realism with detailed and graphic cartoonist influences.

My style is often surrealist, psychedelic and comical with satire and deeper meanings often influencing the subject matter of what I draw. Despite covering a variety of concepts and aesthetics, the style of my work is consistent and uniquely recognisable as my own. I am often inspired by folklore, mythology, history, surrealism, 1930s cartoons, and cult cinema.
