Mike Morrell

I am a versatile illustrator capable of working in various contexts, such as on-location drawing, map making, and editorial design. I create illustrations by using line drawings, painting, and hand-drawn type. Experimenting with painted flat, bold colours graphicly coloured in line work and different types of mediums to graphicly print on.

I'm an illustrator based in Sheffield, UK. Drawing is my passion and I'm pretty much obsessed with it. I create artwork using my observational drawing skills and dooling. I enjoy adding a touch of humour to my work to bring a smile to people's faces. I can also produce metaphorical illustrations and simple drawings that help support complex text. My illustrations come in different sizes, making them versatile for various contexts. All my work is drawn by hand, scanned, and then digitally edited and coloured.

Clients included AlpKit, Manchester Metropolitan University, Manchester School of Art, Skinny magazine, and various independent companies around the Baltic Creative Campus in Liverpool.

In 2013, I completed my degree at the Manchester School of Art, securing a First-Class Honours in Illustration with Animation.
