Staff Nurse

I am a compassionate and dedicated staff nurse who has over 6-years of clinical experience in a variety of nursing fields. I work on the NHS bank which allows me access to work within various departments of the hospital. From this, I have gained experience supporting individuals with complex physical and mental health needs across multidisciplinary healthcare settings.
My role involves helping with treatment, care plans, communication with various other professions, having knowledge of the disabilities that I am caring for, escalation, safeguarding, and accurate documentation. I often care for up to 10 patients on one working day. This involves prioritizing tasks and good time management.
During the week I work from home as a nurse assessor, for which I holistically assess disabilities for the benefit of PIP (Personal Independence Payment). Due to the nature of this work, I need to have in-depth knowledge of many conditions and the restrictions that they may have upon someone's life. From the assessment and implementing my own knowledge, I am able to write evidence-based reports as to why an Individual may need the benefit.
This role exclusively involves working from home with my own caseload and managing this is my responsibility. While I have enjoyed the experience of working from home, I feel a hybrid role would suit me better as I enjoy communication with others and feeling a part of a team. For both of my roles, I need to be aware of safeguarding individuals and to act upon this where needed.
I have an up-to-date awareness of legislation relating to health and equality, both governmental and local. I am experienced in advocating for patients or claimants. Working collaboratively with others is something I particularly enjoy.
I pride myself on maintaining both an individualistic and holistic approach to all roles. I obtained a Master's degree in public health at RGU. This allowed me to expand my knowledge regarding disabilities, policies, and global health issues and gave me a wider perspective to health and health inequalities.
From my studies I realised that working in an environment that promotes equality is a passion of mine and something I want to pursue further.
