I am a senior data engineering manager with 33 years’ experience of leading technical teams, designing and delivering information management solutions. I have worked as head of practice, enterprise architect and development lead on a range of data and software engineering projects.
I have more than ten years’ experience in financial services (investment and retail banking, asset management, insurance, reinsurance, markets, regulatory, market risk) and five years in audit services. Other industry experience includes retail, healthcare, the music industry, and public sector.
As a consultant I have experience in both technical delivery and account management and presales.
I have been an Agile practitioner and coach for 17 years.
My technical expertise includes cloud and data migrations, high performance and streaming data applications, data warehouse (DataVault, Kimball, Inmon) and integration, data modelling, and Agile transformation.
I am a certified Scrum Master, both CSM (scrumalliance.org) and PSM I (scrum.org).
For my technical contributions to SQL Server, I was awarded Microsoft’s MVP Award (Most Valuable Professional) in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008.
