Elizabeth Barker

My name is Libby and I live by Victoria Park in Bristol with my husband and ten year old son. I have lived in Bristol for over 14 years.

I have worked with children since 2010. I originally worked at a children’s Nursery as a Nursery Assistant and Administrator. I then gained my Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools and consequently worked for full summer term and then a whole school year at Victoria Park Primary School.

I am passionate about supporting children to learn and develop both academically and emotionally and believe that books and reading can enrich their lives greatly in these areas as well as providing them with joy and adventure.

In my spare time I love to spend time with my family and friends, read, draw and exercise. I love animals and nature and recently have been volunteering weekly at my friends flower farm, making bunches of flowers for her to sell and helping her with the horticultural side of things as well.

Through roles I have worked in such as Childcare, Administration and Retail I have developed skills in assisting the needs of people in a friendly, caring and professional manner, I have learnt how to organise and prioritise my work load and I am able to use computer programs effectively to complete tasks required of my roles.

I am able to work independently such as when taking a group of children to teach, but also as part of a team, using my initiative to assist the team so we can work efficiently and to a high standard.
