About

I am a Psychology with Counselling (BSc Hons, 2:1) graduate from Nottingham Trent University, with extensive experience in emotional support roles. Through my work with many mental health charities including SHOUT, BHT Sussex and Macmillan, I have developed strong skills in crisis support, active listening and person-centred care. This experience inspired my dissertation research on mental health practitioners' identity, moral injury and trauma-informed care within western clinical systems.

This research reflects my strong interest in trauma-informed approaches and ethical care. I now seek the opportunity to build my career by applying my knowledge and experience within psychological and mental health services.

Volunteer - SHOUT

(2025-06)

Providing confidential text based emotional support to individuals in distress, including those experiencing anxiety, depression and crisis situations. This role has strengthened my active listening skills, crisis communication abilities, and capacity to remain calm and supportive under pressure while maintaining safeguarding and confidentiality protocols.

Emotional Support Worker - Macmillan

(2025-06 - 2026-05)

Provided emotional support to individuals affected by cancer. Working sensitively with people experiencing complex emotions, including grief, anxiety and uncertainty. Supported individuals while maintaining professional boundaries.

Befriending Placement Volunteer - BHT Sussex

(2024-12 - 2025-01)

Supported vulnerable adults through regular check-ins, companionship, and practical assistance. This role deepened my understanding of social care environments and the importance of consistent, person-centred support.

Consent Facilitator - Nottingham Trent University

(2024-09 - 2025-06)

Delivered workshops on consent, wellbeing, and healthy relationships. Developed strong communication skills and confidence in facilitating sensitive discussions with student groups.
