I am a hard worker with suitable time management and previous experience working with animals. I am kind and patient with animals, and I am open to caring for animals I have little to no experience with. I like to work in both a team and by myself. I am extremely motivated to meet the needs of customers within the work placement. I am kind and patient with people; the main goal is to work in a vet practice or an animal rescue centre.

Work Placement - Woofs N scruffs - Seaham

While in college I got a work placement at Woofs N scruffs which I was there for 8 months, and had the opportunity to be responsible for a number of tasks:

• Watching the dogs, ensuring that they weren't getting too rough or getting into things they shouldn't
• Cleaning up after them using pet grade disinfectants to ensure a safe and sanitary environment
• Taking the dogs for walks
• Taking them into the paddock outside for exercise
• Look out for any health concerns to ensure cleanliness

Volunteer - Paws for thought

During my second year in college I decided to volunteer at Paws for thought, an animal charity that aids injured wildlife and pets. During my time here I had a number of responsibilities:

• Cleaning wounds/ injuries
• Maintaining a proper diet to wild animals
• Maintaining clean enclosures using pet grade disinfectant
• Assist in administering medication
• Health checks

Volunteer - White oak vets

Also, during my time at college I began volunteering at a veterinary practice where I had responsibilities such as:

• Cleaning kennels with pet grade disinfectant
• Feeding and giving fresh water to patients
• Observation in surgeries
• Observation in consultation with clients
• Cleaning jobs (mopping, sweeping, disinfecting)
• Observation while patients are in recovery
• Checking on patients
• Stock

Server - The Boat Club - Durham

I worked in hospitality at the Boat Club in Durham where I was a server. I took orders, brought people drinks and their foods, cleaned tables, handled stressful situations on weekend shifts that were very fast paced. I learned time management that was very valuable to be on time, and make sure everyone got what they needed at reasonable times. The importance of customer experience and how the customer feels should always be important.

Waitress - The Boat Club and Tomahawk

While at college I began working at the Boat Club and Tomahawk steakhouse, as a waitress. During my time there I gained deeper understanding of steps of service, understanding how important catering to customers' dietary requirements and offering variety of menus for those who are vegan/vegetarian or gluten intolerant or celiac. I completed essential training on food safety, allergens/intolerances, fire safety and more.

• General: followed the normal steps of service by taking their orders noting any allergens or intolerances and made sure the kitchen knew, served drinks and food, cleaning and resetting tables using disinfectant ready for the next table
• Opening the restaurant: made sure that everything had been restocked from the night before, polished the glasses to keep them looking presentable, checked the bookings for the day and got any tables prepped for larger bookings or bottomless tables that need prepping, checked for any dietary requirements left on the booking so the kitchen would be notified in advance
• Closing the restaurant: cleaned down the booths, polished the cutlery, cleaned and reset any tables that were not up to standards, blew out any candles, restocked the napkins and straws ready for the next day
• Challenge 25: checking IDs to ensure that they can legally purchase alcohol, and carrying out protocols if they are not old enough or if they are with a parent or someone 18+ then they can have small glass of wine or half a pint of lager, with a meal
