Gabija Stankute

First-Class Nutrition and Dietetics graduate from the University of Surrey with extensive clinical placement experience across acute and community NHS settings. I am a highly motivated, compassionate individual with a strong interest in providing evidence-based, person-centred care and improving health outcomes through nutrition education and support. Experienced in working within multidisciplinary teams and communicating effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals across a wide range of clinical areas including gastroenterology, diabetes, renal, stroke, paediatrics, eating disorders and nutrition support.

Through clinical training, tutoring, mentoring, and customer-facing roles, I have developed effective communication, teamwork, organisation, and time-management skills. My 26 weeks of Clinical Dietitian training at East Sussex Healthcare Trust, Royal Sussex County Hospital and St Richard's Hospital strengthened my clinical reasoning, patient counselling and documentation skills, while previous roles at Itsu, MyTutor and Physics & Maths Tutor enhanced my leadership skills and ability to build positive relationships with people from diverse backgrounds. I am a fast learner with strong attention to detail and confidence working both independently and within teams.

Clinical Dietitian Training - East Sussex NHS Healthcare Trust

12-week clinical placement – BSc Nutrition and Dietetics clinical training.

• Assessing the nutritional and medical needs of patients and developing personalised care plans to ensure optimal recovery for acute and long-term medical conditions.
• Experience in gastroenterology, stroke, diabetes, eating disorders, paediatrics
• Acute and community nutrition support, including both oral nutrition support and enteral feeding (NG, PEG, RIG, JEJ).
• Ensuring compliance with HCPC, NICE and local/state guidelines and policies.
• Monitoring and documenting patients' nutritional and clinical status and progress.
• Providing nutritional education and counselling to patients, families, and staff.
• Completing set learning objectives including working according to the HCPC standards of conduct, performance and ethics, demonstrating professional behaviour, interacting with patients and the wider multidisciplinary team, clinical reasoning and service/audit evaluation.
