I’m currently working for a Nursing Home in my local area in Thurrock but prior to that I worked for two years with Essex Police as a Custody Suite nurse for an Agency known as CRG medical then prior to that I worked for another Agency known as Cromwell Medical Staffing as a specialist Nurse in General Hospitals (1-1) and also Accident and Emergency in my locality of Essex and Kent and London,I’ve also in worked in the Mother and Baby Unit, Adolescent Unit, Neuropsychology Unit and PICU in SLAM Bethlem Royal Hospital. Prior to this position I’ve worked in Nursing or Care Homes Forensics, PICU, and Acute clinical settings. I strongly feel I can transfer the experiences acquired to the post.
The skills and knowledge I can contribute to the advertised post are as follows:
Firstly, an understanding on Dementia illness and care management for dementia such as communication methods for assessing pain with verbal and non-verbal cues, safety measurements which includes crash mats and alarms falls risks prevention methods, application safe guarding measures for vulnerable adults, assessments and referrals to (SALT) speech and language teams when necessary.
I am passionate about patient care and delivering the best customer service. I am looking for a position that would allow me to grow in mental health. I am confident about meeting deadlines and working to tight timescales. I work well as a team member and I am also self-sufficient.
In addition to these skills, my duties in the care home setting enable me to perform a leadership role, allocation of staff duties, shift organization, report writing, referrals, care planning, ward GP reviews and professional meetings with outside agencies and meeting the allocated deadlines. I aim to always demonstrate ethics which display patience, respect, dignity, safety also teamwork.
