I hold a degree in Psychology and Counselling and will be enrolling on a MSc in psychotherapeutic counselling in September.
I am passionate about supporting people who are struggling with their mental health and/or have experienced domestic abuse and trauma.
I am actively seeking a position which aligns with my educational pursuits and allows me to gain experience in the aforementioned areas.
I have over a decades experience working in health and social care. I began working in domiciliary care, moving up to working in a specialised care home for elderly people with dementia and other mental health conditions. I currently work for the NHS as a bank nursing assistant and complete the majority of my shifts on the neurology, neurosurgery, and stroke units.
I also volunteer my time support people on the SHOUT text line, which is a crisis line specifically for people struggling with their mental and emotional wellbeing and often are struggling with suicidal thoughts.
I have recently completed my BSc Psychology and Counselling degree with 1st cladding honours.
I currently hold an offer for a MSc in psychotherapeutic counselling programme which will commence in September.
I also hold an NVQ in health and social care.
