My most recent PA and business operations role at a football agency gave me transferable skills to succeed. I was the first point of contact for the business, managing the inbox and phone illustrating my excellent communication skills. I supported the logistical work of the business through dealing with client documentation and contracts and any media responsibilities they may have had, booking couriers, managing room bookings, sending post, organising travel (at home and abroad) as well as diary management. I had to be proactive in organising the CEO’s calendar and manage his workflow and respond quickly to changing priorities and a high volume of work particularly in transfer season. I supported board meetings by taking minutes and/or creating decks. I also maintained our intranet system which had all relevant client data and created invoices for agents’ spendings on Sage. Furthermore, I greeted all clients and prospective clients at the reception desk and maintained a tidy and organised office, completing all ad hoc administrative tasks. This role showed me the necessity of having organised administration in order to have an effective agency.

Working in my PR and events role at The Underground Fan Club gave me a strong understanding of production workflows as I was involved from idea conception to delivery. I used CRM programmes in order to produce and promote the events and created an ongoing database of reputable venues/talent/organisations we could partner with. I also helped create the website using Webflow and communicated directly with brand account managers, collecting marketing assets and storing them in Dropbox.

I posted on the social media accounts, edited videos using iMovie and created the call sheet for everyone. I also was involved with discussions on our strategy i.e. who was our target market and made weekly roundups of the news for the CEO to stay on top of trends e.g. we started doing NFL events after I pointed out its increasing popularity in the UK.

At BBC5Live I work as a runner, primarily in an artist liaison capacity. I have learnt to think quickly and remain calm under pressure as all shows are live and so spontaneous things can happen. I am responsible for creating the information pack for the presenters, social media output, organising guest travel, making them comfortable in the green room and making sure release forms are signed.

Whilst the live show is on I communicate with call-in listeners and advise the producer on who to put through. In this role I have demonstrated my confidence and credibility in working with high-profile talent.
