I have been a primary school teacher for 11 years and absolutely love reading a range of picture, chapter and poetry books to the pupils I teach. I have a keen interest in planning creatively around a text to support children with their reading and writing skills.
I have been part of the English team for the last 5 years of my career and love learning different strategies and finding out new and imaginative ways to inspire children with their own learning by using a range of high quality texts.
I enjoy supporting other members of staff and have lead a range of teaching and learning CPD sessions on how to use texts effectively across a range of year groups.
During my spare time, I love to write children’s poetry and base it on my own experiences in the classroom. Hopefully one day I could have my own poetry book published.
