Experienced IT infrastructure engineer who has a proven track record building and supporting systems from vendors such as Microsoft, VMware, Netapp large and small. I support systems that are globally distributed as well as single site applications. I participate in projects and BAU around infrastructure installation & upgrades.

Be a member of multiple project teams where you build out infrastructure in Azure, VMware,
Windows and be a technical advisor to the project manager and application owner.
Provide L3 support for Azure, VMware vSphere and 2000+ globally disperse Windows servers.
Create and maintain documentation, policies and procedures for L2/L3 platforms teams.
Learn new technologies to introduce to the team. Currently learning Terraform, Logic Apps and
GitHub actions to automate the building of resources.
At the start of Covid we had to rapidly deploy six Cisco ASAv appliances in Azure as VPN servers because the on-prem systems wouldn't be able to cope with the expected demand. I did the Azure part whilst somebody from the networking configured inside the appliance. We had never done something like this before that required such a complicated setup.
Deployed multiple applications in Azure (e.g. Labware LIMS) that require sql clusters, load balancers, zone redundancy and replication to other regions.

Support, monitor and upgrade the site IT infrastructure – VMware vSphere, Cisco, Microsoft (AD,
GPO, DNS etc), NetApp. This includes computers used to run factory production lines in clean rooms.
Upgraded: All ageing networking switches for new (Taught myself Cisco in the process), All VMware hosts multiple times for new, Introduced NetApp storage for the VM’s as it didn’t require fibre.
Maintain relationships with vendors (Quotes, Support contracts).
Provide technical assistance to the operations team with the building access, fire monitoring,
canteen/vending machine billing and CCTV systems. I was involved numerous times over the years as more and more things became network connected.
