I am a dedicated, motivated, quick learning individual who strives to fulfil customer and service user satisfaction. I currently work as a Laboratory Assistant in the NHS and am experienced in fast-paced working environments. I understand the importance of patient confidentiality, and the need to perform to high quality standards to ensure I comply with standard working regulations.

Prior to this, I have over 4 years of retail experience where I worked as part of a team in both Specsavers and Asda. I participated in stock takes, delivery shifts, working core hours and dealing in customer service. I am a confident individual and have no issues working both as a team or individually and show high levels of initiative when a job needs to be done.

I have excellent communication skills and can approach people from all walks of life and am able to alter my approach however is required. I strive for perfection and always pay attention to details, which is something I learnt whilst at Specsavers as this allows for a better customer connection. I hold an undergraduate degree and am currently studying a Masters Degree so I am looking for a part time job which I can balance around my studies.

Laboratory Assistant - NHS - New Cross Hospital

Main Responsibilities

• Receive, sort, label and booked in high volumes of clinical samples from hospital and GP surgeries.
• Use LIMS systems including LIMS and WinPath for accurate sample booking and tracking.
• Prioritise urgent samples, manage workflow efficiently and escalate issues appropriately.
• Support patients and colleagues professionally, maintaining confidentiality and explaining sample collection processes such as 24-hour urine tests.
• Pack referral samples for external laboratories, ensuring accurate documentation, labes and tracking.
• Maintain stock levels, temperature logs, waste records and general laboratory cleanliness.
• Follow SOPs, PPE, health and safety procedures and adhere to quality standards.
• Work effectively as part of the MLA team and wider pathology team.
• Correctly handle cryoglobulin samples, including collection, separation, and storage.
• Maintain laboratory records including lot numbers, stock logs, and expiration tracking.
• Ensure accurate documentation and labelling of all samples.

Retail Assistant - Asda - George Clothing - Wolverhampton

• Responsible for stock replenishment across the shop floor and ensured that shelves were well-presented, fully stocked and aligned with store display standards.
• Assisted customers with general enquiries, providing helpful and friendly support to enhance their shopping experience.
