I am a recent university graduate with an upper second-class degree in compuing with my dissertaion project in C#. During my degree, I completed a year in industry which gave me an introducion to how technology is delivered at scale using the agile methodology. I had the chance to utilise many industry-wide practices, such as agile methodology, pair programming, code reviews,
test driven development and team working.
PHP Developer Internship - ParkNow – July 2021 - July 2022
During my industrial placement at ParkNow, the company went through many changes as it was brought out by EasyPark. My team was involved in changing the websites to accommodate the new company. I worked with PHP, Javascript and their SQL database.
My team also maintained the staff website, Insight. As part of this role I created and wrote unit tests, worked with a larger team of developers using Git, Jenkins for continuous integration and Slack and used practices such as pair programming and test driven development to improve my coding skills. The team used agile development so I have experience with Jira tickets and was required to participate in all the ceremonies including standup, retro, refinement and planning.

Dissertation Project: C# Pendulum Program For my final year project I created a program to explain mathematical models for pendulums. It was first created in Python, in order to process the complicated mathematical equations, but then I rewrote the program with Unity in C# to utilise the inbuilt physics engine for simulating the movement of the pendulum. The program accepted starting parameters and then extrapolated equations and demonstrated the simulation.
The source code was made available publicly through
Git, which also provided version control, and the program was uploaded to Itch.io.
Using the declarative language Flutter, as part of a team, I built a Flutter mobile app which talks to an
SQLite database. The application shows, in real time, COVID regulations associated with each shop on the high street.
Web Application for Gym Routines
My team built a full stack web application with PHP and NodeJS for the backend. During this project I demonstrated my team working, leadership and time management skills. AVer the project, the group nominated me to receive the largest percentage of the marks for organising meeings, keeping minutes and ensuring the tasks are completed on time while maintaining a cheerful team ethos.
Database Design and Queries for a Fictional Furniture Factory
I was required to create an ERD given the problem domain, write queries in PostgreSQL to find data valuable to the factory and their needs and to create the rela7onal database. This coursework involved identifying customer needs, working with data and designing queries and databases.
