Previously, I served as the Head of Operations of our family retail business until its sale. I held full operational responsibility for the property portfolios and the retail store with a £multi-million turnover, successfully competing with major chains for many years.

I joined the family business after my father suffered an accident and was immediately thrown into the deep end as a senior figure. Then successfully implemented a significant transformation and modernisation program. Played a crucial role in positioning and selling the retail side of the business.

● Managed a team of 35 staff; monitored monthly business plans to ensure company focus to achieve strategic objectives for sustained corporate growth.

● Oversaw a £250,000 refit, increased bakery size, added automatic doors, doors on chillers, new low-energy lights, and new sandwich chillers, which boosted turnover and reduced the electricity bill by 42%.

● Directed an ongoing renovation project to convert a stone barn into three holiday cottages and a 10-bedroom student accommodation into two apartment residences.

● Negotiated deals with ATM, insurance, and Cash-in-Transit companies (to ease cash flow problems when the three banks in town closed their branches, leaving not one ATM in town.
