I work as a Guest Service Assistant across the shop floor, café, and admissions areas in a busy city-centre location. I am responsible for opening and closing procedures, ensuring the shop and café are fully prepared for daily operations. My role includes monitoring stock levels, ordering café supplies, and communicating effectively with colleagues to maintain smooth service.
I provide knowledgeable and engaging customer support to a high volume of tourists, answering queries and assisting with tour admissions. Through this role, I have developed strong communication, organisational, and teamwork skills within a fast-paced retail and hospitality environment.

I was employed at Bishopthorpe Deli for six months in a front-of-house position, where I built a strong foundation in workplace skills through my first job. My duties included serving customers, preparing hot drinks, processing payments, and replenishing stock to keep the deli running efficiently. Acting as the main point of contact, I strengthened my interpersonal skills and learned how to provide friendly, efficient service in a busy environment.
