I am a Teacher and Psychologist with post graduate studies in Educational Neuropsychology. I have been a teacher for nearly 9 years in international/IB schools and SEN schools, which has exposed me to a variety of student needs in different education contexts. Having worked with different year groups in primary and secondary as a teacher gives me a general understanding of how the needs of pupils evolve and mutate throughout the school years, addressing them from a class teacher standpoint alongside multidisciplinary teams of psychologists, speech and language and occupational therapists, and other teachers; designing behavioural and teaching strategies to support them, articulating different professional perspectives in the process.
For the last couple of years, I have aimed to understand students' needs further, which is why I completed a MSc Psychology where I learnt more about behaviour from a psychological perspective and went on to carry a research project about attention and ADHD traits. Before the masters, I also completed a PG Certificate in Developmental and Educational Neuropsychology.
For a while, alongside my teaching duties, I was able to lead an interdisciplinary team of teachers around cross-curricular innovation projects using a Design Thinking approach to come up with projects that would impact the local community.
Alongside my work experience, I am a passionate researcher who seeks to further the understanding of educational and psychological questions, in order to humbly contribute towards making schools and society better. My research projects have revolved around language immersion environments, the use of technology in learning environments, and the relationship between hyperfocus and ADHD traits.
