Provide technical ownership for the Publisher Platform responsible for processing and distributing card authorisation, transaction and enriched payment events consumed by critical downstream fraud detection, settlement and digital banking systems. Own the Config Manager platform responsible for ingesting business-critical configuration including BIN ranges, FX rates, merchant data, risk rules, product configurations, card profiles and wallet profile configuration required by the card processing engine. Supported PCI DSS audit and compliance activities across the Publisher and Config Manager platforms working with security, risk and audit stakeholders to provide technical evidence.
- Led the end-to-end technical delivery of a strategic active-active resilience programme, transforming the Publisher Platform from an active-passive architecture to an active-active deployment model to support future business growth following the Discover–Capital One merger.
- Owned the architecture and non-functional delivery of the active-active implementation, coordinating engineering, SRE and infrastructure workstreams to commission a new production datacentre, validate resilience requirements and ensure production readiness.
- Increased Publisher Platform capacity from 1,500 TPS to 4,500 TPS, significantly improving throughput while reducing latency, enabling zero-downtime deployments, strengthening disaster recovery capabilities and reducing operational risk.
- Enhanced Spring Batch performance through partitioning, restartability, monitoring and error-handling improvements, enabling the platform to process 14 million configuration records within a 15-minute SLA while supporting tokenisation and compliance requirements.
- Successfully validated Publisher and Config Manager for 10× future growth through large-scale breakpoint and performance testing, ensuring readiness for increased transaction volumes resulting from the Discover–Capital One integration.
