Prior to and in conjunction with my varied career path I have had 3 children, completed my Cert Ed and ran a successful business. I became a single parent in 2002 and am happy to say that they all made it to adulthood and their own live.
I currently work to grow my partners business assisting with development and innovation. Purchasing a Public House one week prior to lockdown has proved to be challenging and leaves me needing to supplement my income in a role that I can develop into thus carving a new career path. Having successfully worked within industries that require me to be precise, measured, accountable, clear, informed and problem solving I feel that I bring a plethora of transferrable skills to the role that you advertise.
As COO I led a diverse team taking the business from a turnover of £2 million to £10 million. Managing the needs of the business and the staff whilst overseeing the transition from paper and paste to large scale digital advertising offerings.
As a publican I have come across people from all walks of life and pride myself in my personability.
I like people, I'm good at people. Single parenting sent me to the London Ambulance Service and emergency planning for the Olympic Games was high on the agenda, come the end of the games I moved to Community Support Officer on a voluntary basis whilst undertaking a full time Emergency Dispatcher position, new skills, new people and then a personal situation required me to be at home, one of the boys became unwell. I worked bank for a period supporting any shifts that found themselves understaffed, nights, days, weekends, holidays.
Job of a lifetime was exactly that big salary, big responsibility but not to be a long term offering so it turned out. Now a support person, again The Fixer.
I touch type and have over my working life been required to use various systems and software both bespoke and mainstream. The LAS transitioned from one CAD system to another whilst I was employed this required a live switch over which was undertaken during a shift, I was part of. I am happy to undertake any training required.
I come from Hospitality, it’s my roots, it’s my transferable skill set standing me in good stead for all I do now. Quick to learn, happy to adapt I have proved my people skills to myself and continue to work on them. Service is in every role, seems that I am now using all that I have learnt to find a path once trodden in a different guise.
Happy to provide references but would love the opportunity to show you who I am.
