Account Manager - Fortune UK
(2017-08)
Fortune UK operates across two divisions: bespoke temperature and air conditioning units (BMS) and customised trophies and personal gifts. I support both areas by managing client relationships, overseeing projects, and ensuring successful delivery from quotation to completion.
- Manage a varied client portfolio across BMS and trophy divisions, handling both large-scale commercial projects and smaller, bespoke orders.
- Act as the main point of contact for customers, providing quotations, technical drawings, and support throughout the order process.
- Oversee multiple BMS projects simultaneously, ensuring delivery to strict handover deadlines—recent clients include contractors for TikTok and Google. Visiting sites and clients overseeing projects.
- Prepare competitive tender submissions for BMS contractors, ensuring accurate cost coverage and quantity-based pricing.
- Manage full project lifecycles, from quotation through to installation, including technical documentation, wiring diagrams, troubleshooting, and on-site visits when needed.
- Support sports clubs and event organisers with seasonal trophy orders, providing quotes and ensuring on-time delivery for events such as tournaments and player awards.
- Liaise with suppliers across both business areas to review pricing, perform margin analysis, and adapt to changes such as Brexit-related fees.
- Compile and present monthly financial reports, monitoring revenue performance against monthly targets of £75,000–£100,000.
- Contribute to cross-functional business needs, supporting accounts payable, bookkeeping, stock control, staff training, and recruitment.
- Manage and maintain company websites (www.fortuneuk.com and www.engravingdepartment.com), keeping stock levels and pricing accurate and up to date.
- Drive digital visibility through Google AdWords campaigns and web analytics, tracking customer behaviour to improve engagement and conversion.
Sales & Account Manager – UK & Europe - Field & Stable Ltd / Bizzy Bites
(2014-08 - 2017-08)
Start-up turned internationally distributed brand in the equine sector. Joined at concept stage and played a central role in developing Bizzy Bites into one of the most recognised equine stable toys in the UK and internationally. Worked closely with the founder to take the product from idea to market.
When Bizzy
Bites was sold we had over 60 direct retail accounts and the product was stocked with 4 main wholesalers in the UK and 7 wholesalers across Europe/World (France, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Republic of Ireland, Spain and Belgium) making it one of the most popular stable toys across the UK/World.
- Used in-depth equine industry knowledge to ensure the product was suitable for all horse types (including laminitic, competition, young, and box-rested horses), collaborating with vets and nutritionists to refine design, formulation, and safety.
- Set up operational systems including order processing, invoicing, bookkeeping, and stock control, while also managing compliance areas such as packaging, labelling, nutritional info, and regulatory requirements.
- Developed pricing and margin strategies across both B2B and B2C channels, ensuring commercial viability while maintaining healthy profit margins.
- Built the eCommerce website and launched the brand's social media channels; created pre-launch content and secured product placements with professional riders and equestrian media to drive awareness.
- Managed direct-to-consumer (B2C) sales during launch phase, attending consumer events, running the trade stand, and coordinating part-time staff while actively growing our digital presence.
- Led B2B expansion by visiting independent retailers, chains, vet practices, and hospitals; created sales packs and presented performance data (including geographic sales insights) to demonstrate potential.
- Maintained and developed retailer relationships by sharing promotional updates, introducing new flavours/products, resolving queries, and handling credit control.
- Attended trade shows to expand account base and build wholesale interest, contributing directly to sustained growth.
- Scaled sales to approx. £9,000/month, enabling renegotiation of supplier costs and transition to wholesale distribution.
- Oversaw all aspects of daily business operations including financial reporting, VAT submissions, staffing, customer support, advertising content, and social media management.
