I have worked in care for around 15 years, 7 years as a registered nurse. Working in a hospital for 6 of them and working 1 year as a nurse in a nursing home in Whitby.

I worked as specialist haematology nurse on busy ward. I currently work in a nursing home in Whitby but I am looking for a different role in nursing. Within the nursing home I care for individuals with dementia, MND, cancer, diabetes, PEG feeding tubes, wound care and other health issues including noticing signs of UTIs etc and acting upon this.
I work closely with the surgery to manage these residents to enable the best care. I refer to Speech and language therapy, dietician, physiotherapist and the Anchorage team if I am concerned about someone's mental health.

I worked on a haematology ward, working on a high dependency unit, teenage unit and main ward. Caring for clinical deteriorating patients. I have experience with diabetes, IV treatment for hypotension, infections, chemotherapy and immunotherapy.
Working alongside physiotherapists, occupational therapists, emotional wellbeing professionals and doctors. Looking at the individuals overall holistic needs and how this can be improved/maintained. Documenting the events of the day in the care plan is something which I did everyday.
