About

I am a fully-qualified teacher of English Literature & Language with experience in marketing, administration and editing. Having learned valuable skills from a PGCE and 2 years' of teaching, I am now looking to integrate these skills into my main passion - literature. I am a highly organised and proactive individual looking to start a permanent career in writing and editing.

English Literature and Language Teacher - SIS Paris (Jan 2022 - Jan 2023)

1 year visa; creating, planning and delivering lessons to all of college level (10-16). Organising extra-curricular activities such as trips and charity reading initiatives. Integrating useful and frequent assessment alongside thorough record keeping. Collaborating with other teachers, engaging with the latest pedagogical practices and inputting to departmental planning. Communicating with all students, parents and colleagues with professionalism.

Fashion Editor - Helicon Magazine Bristol (Sep 2019 - June 2020)

Collaborating with other student creatives in running arts and culture magazine both online and in print. Editing and commissioning articles, conducting interviews and reviewing cultural events. Proof-reading and copy-writing, honing on attention to detail and organisational skills. Working to deadlines and organising events such as charity clothes sales and magazine launches. Running back-end of the website and creating podcasts.

Marketing Assistant - UK Connect Ltd (Nov 2016 - July 2019)

Worked with a small team in a technology start-up based in Guildford, supporting the Marketing Manager with brainstorming campaigns. Successfully pitched and carried out a letter campaign, winning new clients from divisions of Redrow Homes. Carried out administrative roles such as invoice chasing, updating company accounts, liaising with suppliers. Managed the digital marketing, running all social media platforms and creating content alongside blogs and newsletters (utilising SEO tools). Increased social media base by 300%.
