Jenna Goff

In order to gain extra-curricular experience during my MBChB medical studies, I am seeking a registered nurse position. After graduating from a Bsc (Hons) degree in Adult Nursing in 2020, my goal is to find a position that is flexible enough to accommodate my education and childcare arrangements. Throughout my educational career, my goal has been to contribute to the quality of life of individuals. I aim to advance into a specialised career field that I feel passionate about.

All of my career decisions have been influenced by my experiences as a mother, caring for family members informally, and working in the care industry In addition to reading diverse topics regarding physiology, anatomy, and pharmacology, I am also interested in a variety of social sciences. In the near future, I plan to pursue a postgraduate degree in medicine/psychiatry.

The first job I had was as a hospital record keeper when I was sixteen years old. In the years since then, I have worked as an administrator in a number of outpatient clinics. Through this course, I gained an understanding of the healthcare environment and satisfied my curiosity about a variety of fields. Due to the variety of experiences I have gained over the years, I have developed the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Besides education, I am primarily concerned with my son. Whenever possible, I interact with other parents, which assists my son's social development. My hobbies include photography and playing the guitar in my spare time.

Having identified the therapeutic benefits of expressive arts towards my own emotional well-being I appreciate its place as a therapeutic tool among patients.

I am considered to be open-minded by my peers, and they have observed how this trait can benefit others who may have difficulty being a patient in a healthcare environment. I strive to work within my good-practice while thinking outside the box and have earned the respect and trust of service users by doing so. As I progress through my employment journey, I hope to carry on this trait and develop a great rapport with my service users and colleagues.
