I started my working career administrating the Education Maintenance Allowance, ensuring I understood and applied the regulations accurately. Under my care, the college I worked for had the highest accuracy of the scheme in England. I then moved into working in customer service, which helped me to learn how to best manage people when they are in difficult situations and remain calm under extreme pressure.
I then ran my own creative company, running choirs and musical workshops, before turning to creative freelancing when I had my children. These roles were key in helping me to become self-motivated and manage my own time effectively. I currently volunteer helping disabled people to apply for support as well as representing and advocating for them at tribunals.
This has enhanced my study for my law degree.
I am currently studying for a law degree at the Open University. I have completed criminal, civil and constitutional law modules as well as an optional family law module. Based on my grades so far, I am predicted a first.
