Administrator apprentice - New College Durham

I have worked as a administrator at New College Durham and I have had a lot of experience with word, excel, email and many more computer skills. I was dealing with students, staff and visitors coming into reception to help them or book in appointments for counselling or career advice. I was using the printer and photocopier nearly everyday for students applications.

Volunteer - Stray Aid

I have volunteered at stray aid which I did basic cleaning tasks and walking the dogs.

Cleaner - Durham Constabulary PSU Training An example of my punctuality is when I was working as a cleaner at Durham Constabularies PSU Training facility my hours were 5:00am – 8:00am I was getting up at 4:00am which shows my dedication to attend my job. My jobs were general cleanliness of the PSU centre hoovering, wiping down tables and making sure everything was tidy in time for the police officers to come into work to start their day. Although it was tiring getting up so early on a morning I enjoy working hard because if I get the job done correctly it was a huge sigh of relief.

Waitress - The Court Inn An example of my creativity was during my trial at The Court Inn as a waitress. I noticed that the specials board was in need of updating so I took it upon myself to remedy this. I redesigned the specials board and made it more visually appealing to customers with bold lettering and bright colours.

I also changed the location of the board from a quiet corner of the restaurant to the main bar area where the majority of the customers were situated. As a result of this they sold more meals from the specials menu than on previous nights. I received a small bonus from the owner as they make more money from the specials than the usual menu items.

Cleaner - Durham Prison Officers Club

I have experience cleaning in Durham Prison Officer's Club. The jobs I had to do is clean the floors. Tables and the bar which I had to do by a certain time which means I am very time efficient. I hoping to gain more experience, learn new skills and become more independent.

• An example of working as one team was when I and my 2 friends were tasked with cleaning Durham Prison Officers Club
• When we arrived we found it in quite an untidy state as there had been a large function the night before
• We only had a two hour time frame to ensure the club was clean and presentable and ready for opening
• Between the three of us we devised an itinerary whereby each of us had specific tasks to complete
• As a result of this we finished within the allotted timescale and the club opened on time
