Joanna Barry

I am a biology graduate looking to join the world of healthcare, specifically working in the fertility field.

I have previously worked in the healthcare field as a volunteer at a hospice. In this role I interacted with patients showing compassion. This helped me gain insight into the medical world and develop both my communication and teamwork skills, though working as part of a team to help deliver food to the patients. It also helped me to understand the importance of attention to detail and quality control in a medical setting.

I have completed a degree in biology at the University of Leeds. This has provided me with sufficient experience working within labs, giving me an understanding of elements such as correct health and safety. It has also helped me to develop competent MS office skills, from using these packages throughout my degree including excel and outlook etc. During my degree I had a special interest in studying IVF and had the opportunity to complete a literature review on the subject.
