I have hands on experience in laboratory and production focused settings.
Scientific, contracted to GSK in Packaging R and D, I worked to GMP and GLP every day, wrote and updated SOPs, kept clear and traceable records, and supported QA facing tasks with minimal supervision. I developed a new moisture vapour transmission rate method from concept to a scalable approach, acted as the point of contact for a product footprint calculation tool, and delivered reports with clean data and practical recommendations. During my industrial year at Hypetex I led a small resin development project for coloured carbon fibre, ran microscopy and image analysis, coordinated stock and process checks, and helped on the company stand at JEC in Paris engaging engineers and buyers.
I am confident with Excel for analysis and templates, use Python when helpful, and I am comfortable communicating results to technical and non technical audiences.
I hold a BEng in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Birmingham. My studies covered mechanical testing, microscopy, spectroscopy, rheology, conductivity and diffusion modelling. I achieved 88 percent for a literature review on electrospinning and a first for my final year presentation on sodium ion battery binder research, where I carried out independent lab work and reported findings clearly.
I have practical experience with Rockwell hardness testing, four point probe measurements, optical and electron microscopy, and I completed about fifty hours of independent research in the battery group. Throughout the degree I built tidy analysis workflows in Python and Excel and learned to link experimental results to clear conclusions and next steps.
