Jon Stansmore

Early in my career I worked in the finance industry in both financial planning and as a Manager in HSBC. I joined the Police in 2000 and enjoyed a varied career and progressed to the rank of Inspector. I moved into the Northeast Regional Special Operation Unit in 2015 where I worked in the Cyber Crime team until I left the service in 2021.

Since 2021 I have held a number of fixed term positions which include Organ Transplant transport, Patient transport and Pharmacy delivery. These posts allowed me to utilise my extensive driver training and experience. Since 2024 I have worked in the Prison service in a Security and Risk role.

My varied career has allowed me to develop my interpersonal and communications skills, often dealing with challenging situations. I have calm a demeanor and manage tasks with a problem-solving approach. I can work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.

I enjoy walking and maintaining a good level of general fitness.

Security and Risk at Ministry of Justice, HMP Kirklevington Grange (2024-09 – 2026-07)

Responsible for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of contractors and personnel whilst they are on-site.

• Guiding contractors through the prison, ensuring they follow designated routes and access points.
• Monitor activities ensuring all personnel adhere to health and safety regulations including the correct usage of PPE.
• Maintaining concise records of all personnel, visits and visitors, including logging all equipment that is taken in and out of a work area.
