Commis Chef at Artisan foodhouse catering (2025-09 – Present)
My roles are to support the head chef and cook a wide variety of dishes using a variety of equipment including a charcoal grill, hob tops rational oven and gas oven, my responsibilities range from preparing large quantities of ingredients and components for dishes later on in the week and preparing and serving dishes to order that day, opening up the kitchen to start the day and close the kitchen at the end. Due to the nature of this job i thrive working under pressure.
Waiter at Artisan foodhouse catering (2025-07 – Present)
I served canopes and a selection of wines at tracy emins 62nd birthday and served the courses prepared by my now head chef. This event lasted for around 10 hours and gave me a good insight as to what good service requires.
Factory sawman at Roe Timber Frame (2023-02 – 2025-08)
My responsibility is to ensure the departments of the factory recieve the parts they need to construct their respective timber frames, i do this by operating a hundegger speed cut SC3.
Other responsibilities include: maintaining the saw to ensure its ability to cut timber is optimal, by this i mean clearing out saw dust from the moving parts and making sure none of the sensors are blocked and making sure all of the conveyor belts are fully functional. If there is an especially urgent job i am assigned other employees who i must supervise to ensure no mistakes are made during the cutting process. During the last friday of every month i am required to record the majority of the stock in the factory alongside my production supervisor.
This includes: timber, galvanised plates and a range of brackets, screws and other materials used to assemble the timber frames. If i am ever missing any cleaning materials or tools i have to consult with the purchasing manager to get what i need to do my job. I am trained in most other departments including truss building, joist building and casset building.
I know how to make accurate cuts in timber using many different methods ranging from a simple hand saw to a table saw to programing the dimensions of a piece into the hundegger software. I have to communicate efficiently with the forklift drivers to make sure i get the correct measurements of timber into my saw room all in good time. Everyday i record the moisture levels of the timber to make sure they follow the standards required.
I am also trained on how to use a nail gun and other types of equipment typically used in similar factory environments. I am very familiar with the drawings used for constructing the trusses from my time working in that department. Im also able to operate a birch press machine.
Trainee Electrician at Mister Power (2021-09 – 2023-01)
Variety of tasks including assisting with 3 phase commercial and single phase domestic electrical installations. Some properties are fully occupied by families whilst others are under complete renovation where I am working around other tradesmen.
Restaurant Front of House at The Parlour (2020-09 – 2021-08)
During lockdown for around 12 months I held a part time position. Waiting tables, making coffee and other beverages, pouring drinks, taking orders from customers. Washing up and any other tasks required.
