I am a dedicated Trainee Journalist with a passion for storytelling and a strong focus on political reporting. Alongside my journalism pursuits, I am an experienced freelance graphic designer, skilled in creating engaging visual content. My professional background spans customer service, food preparation, factory work, and hospitality, equipping me with adaptability, strong communication skills, and the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.
I am highly motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to bring my creativity and diverse skill set to every project I undertake.
I have a solid background in traditional employment roles, with experience across customer service, food preparation/factory work, and hospitality. At McGee's in Asda, Strabane, I developed strong customer service skills, handling inquiries, managing transactions, and ensuring a positive shopping experience. During my time at McColgan's, I gained experience in food preparation and factory operations, working efficiently in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
In hospitality at Harry Jack's Diner, I honed my teamwork, communication, and multitasking abilities, delivering excellent customer service in a busy dining setting. These roles have equipped me with adaptability, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
I hold A-Levels in Politics (Grade B), Media Studies (Grade B), and Digital Technology (Grade C) - all gained from Holy Cross Colleg. These provided me with a strong foundation in analysis, communication, and digital skills. Currently, I am pursuing a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Journalism at Northwest Regional College, where I am further developing my expertise in storytelling, media production, and industry-relevant skills to prepare for a career in journalism and creative media.
