About

My name is Joshua Maddox, for the past year I have worked for 'the ship inn' located in Dymchurch starting as a member of front of house before subsequently being taken on for the role of junior manager. Before this I had completed my A level alongside being in the army cadets for 5 years before leaving. During my time in sixth form I was a part of the student council where I helped arrange fundraising events. In my own time I am a passionate hobbyist photographer.

Junior Manager - the ship inn - Dymchurch

(2025-07 - 2026-06)

From July 2025 I had been working at a hotel, pub and restaurant called 'the ship inn' where I initially started working as a front of house member where through hard work and determination got promoted to manager, where I dealt with customers regularly and had been trusted enough to lead a team of workers becoming an essential backbone for the business. In this position not only do I need to have good leadership and communication skills to help ensure affective team cohesion, but I also have to be trusted enough with handling the businesses finances. This comes in the form of handling deliveries along with counting up the tills and safe.

Furthermore, I had to mentor and help train new staff along with dealing with customer complaints either in person or via emails.

Project Assistant - Sizewell Nuclear Power Station For a brief period, I worked at Sizewell Nuclear power station where I worked alongside a project manager and helped run risk assessments for upcoming projects along with touring the turbine hall and main reactor building.

Staff Member - Tearoom

I also worked for a brief period of time in a tearoom where I also engaged with customers serving them food and drinks. I also handled money and had to work under pressure at peak times.
