Hi, I'm 53, married with 2 grown up children.
I have worked in the care sector now for 19 years, starting as a support worker to a team leader to running a care team of 12, looking after a gentleman in his own home.
I am now looking to change my career , from working on the floor, but would like to still be in this area of work. I feel I have a lot of knowledge to give but also I am willing to learn more in different areas.
Worked in care 19 years, throughout these years I have completed various training courses and also completed NVQ level 2 and 3 in health and social care.
I have done care plans, risk assessments as well as workedwithin budgets givens to me. I have dealt with all professionals arranging meetings and appointments. I have attended many meetings discussing confidential issues. I have worked alongside families throughout good and bad times. I feel I have a good working ethic and easily approachable.
NVQ level 2 and 3 health and social care.
Regular mandatory training safeguarding, first aid, risk assessing, health and safety and many more.
My working career started in 1986 where I completed 2 years on a NACRO scheme, working in a school as an assistant in the classroom to then working in a residential home as a carer.
In 1988 I went to work for Dalgety produce for 2 years and then the fa tory closed down.
In 1990 I started working for D & J transport, working some in the office and also looking after theor granddaughter and some housework. I then left here in 1994 to have my son and a few years later my daughter.
I returned to work in 1999 working at Manea preschool for 3 years.
I then went to worked at a fancy dress shop in march until I moved away from March in 2005.
I then started working for Leonard Cheshire as a carer to start with to working my way into a team leader.
Due to another move back to March I started working for Anglua case management as a team leader for a gentleman with a team of 12 support workers. This job finished in February 2023 due to him passing away.
I presently work for Edmund trust as support worker.
But I am now ready for a new challenge in my life.
