I’m a strong willed, kind natured individual. I am highly self-motivated and reliable with an organised approach to work and excellent communication skills. I am friendly, approachable and love meeting new people.
I believe these attributes give me the potential to be successful in many job roles due to the transferable skills I’ve acquired during my 2 years of midwifery training. Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances I had to step off my midwifery degree before qualifying and I’m now searching for other routes into midwifery as I will no longer be funded by student finance england.
I have experience working on busy wards within maternity settings, due to the high demands of the NHS I have the ability to cope under huge amounts of pressure. I’m able to prioritise tasks and carry them out without a second thought. I’m a brilliant team player and fit well into new environments.
September 2020 to March 2023 (interrupted briefly for maternity in march 2021)
Completed clinical placements as a student midwife. My time here included placements on the maternity ward, delivery suite, birth centre, antenatal clinics and out in the community. I worked alongside registered midwives carrying out midwifery practices such as taking blood, taking blood pressure, performing catheterisation, recording observations and writing up patient notes, scrubbing in to assist surgeons and the multi disciplinary team during surgical procedures, caring for neonates after birth and escalating any concerns as appropriate.
As a midwife my role was very women and family centred, my practice was evidence based enabling women and families to make informed decisions regarding their treatment during the antenatal and postnatal periods
