Katie Mehers

Recently graduated English Literature student from Liverpool John Moores University. I am a self-motivated, enthusiastic and hard-working person who is excellent at working in a team. Three years studying a literature degree has fuelled my passion for reading, and understanding the importance of writing. I am interested in the publishing field, hoping to gain some experience within a setting that revolves around literature.

My first role was as a waitress in a local coffee shop, and from this work experience I gained essential customer service skills that are applicable to any role. I gained teamwork skills, barista skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. As well as this, I worked in a fast-paced restaurant for three years, and those three years were detrimental in building my resilience skills and refining my abilities to deliver excellent customer service.

During my time at university, I represented Liverpool John Moores as a Level 6 student by helping to run the Applicant Day events, where I showcased leadership skills and gained the ability to run and organise events smoothly.

I have a 2:1 in English Literature, and I studied at Liverpool John Moores University. Those three years fuelled my already existing passion for literature, and broadened my literary horizons. My degree refined my writing skills to excellency and enhanced my critical thinking skills.
