Katie Sheehan

I have been an NMC registered nurse for the last 4 years. I have a range of experience in a variety of fields. Currently I am a team leader in a community nursing team. I am keen to develop and build on my knowledge in regarding to wound care and management and I am currently completing a leg ulcer management course at masters level. I enjoy learning and teaching others!

I have working in a variety of settings. At the beginning of my career I completed a rotation programme at a cardiothoracic hospital which involved 3 different placement including; transplant, CCU and intensive care. I then went onto work In the high dependency unit where I developed my leadership skills and supported junior members of the team. 2 years ago I joined the community nursing team where I quickly progressed to a team leader role.

I have fallen in love with community nursing caring for and Working collaboratively with patients in their own home. I have taken a keen interest in wound care and management and am now completely a master level module on leg ulcer management. These steps will Hopefully support me in getting a specialist role in wound care

I have a first class degree in adult nursing

I have completed my practice accessor course

I am currently completing my leg ulcer management course at the university of Huddersfield
