About

I am a well-motivated hard working individual who welcomes a challenge. Through previous roles I have acquired good written and communication skills and have the ability to effectively build relationships with others. I carry out my duties conscientiously, paying attention to detail. I have an enthusiastic sense of humour and an aptitude for learning. In addition I am keen to both fully utilize existing knowledge and skills, with the expectation of developing new skills.

Community phlebotomist - Community

(2021)

My job currently involves taking bloods, blood pressures and observation as requested by the GP and hospital. I am in the community visiting house bound patient who cannot attend gp practice or hospital appointments.

Nursing Auxiliary - Barnsley Hospital

(2018 - 2021)

Working closely with health care professionals to administer care to patients, my main duties are to – take bloods and cannulation, effectively undertake bladder scanning procedures, take blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen levels, pulse and the patient's respiratory rate. As part of the role I'm also required to wash and dress incapacitated patients. Feed patients at meal times and help those who have difficulty walking to get around.

Help the elderly and disabled with toileting, make patients beds, change their sheets when required and assist with the general upkeep of the ward. The role is rewarding and to help patients meet their health goals requires patience, compassion and strong communication skills.

My main duties involved planning and overseeing programmes aimed at young people, helping them to build life skills, develop healthy relationships and make decisions that are right for them.

This position required caring for elderly and vulnerable adults in a care home setting. My main duties consisted of general housework, cleaning, preparing meals and assisting with medication, assisting with resident's personal and clinical care. I also had to ensure the clients physical, emotional, cultural and social needs were considered whilst maintaining their dignity and confidentiality.

Shop Assistant - Roundhouse News - New Lodge, Barnsley

(2006 - 2012)

My main duties consisted of, assisting shoppers to find the goods they were looking for. Being responsible for processing cash and card payments. The stocking and ordering of merchandise, dealing with customer refunds and answering the phone. The role taught me various skills such as, having a confident manner whilst being helpful and polite, being able to work as part of a team and demonstrating a friendly and engaging personality.
