I am very excited to apply for the Community Phlebotomist position. I have completed training in phlebotomy and venipuncture and have experience working in domiciliary care, supporting clients in their own homes. I feel this has given me a strong foundation for a community-based role where both safe clinical practice and good patient care are important.

My domiciliary care experience has taught me how important it is to treat people with dignity, empathy and respect. Working in clients' homes has helped me understand the importance of protecting their privacy, listening to their needs and making them feel comfortable and valued. I understand the importance of gaining consent and explaining what I am doing, particularly when someone may feel anxious or vulnerable.

Through my phlebotomy and venipuncture training, I have developed an understanding of safe practice, patient identification, consent and the importance of correctly collecting, labelling and handling blood samples. I am keen to build my practical experience and continue developing my skills within an NHS phlebotomy service. I have a genuine interest in science and healthcare and would like to study Biomedical Sciences as part of my long-term career progression.

I feel phlebotomy and Biomedical Sciences go hand in hand, and I see this role as a valuable opportunity to develop my experience while working towards my future career in healthcare. I am hardworking, caring and motivated to learn, and I would be proud to bring my care experience, phlebotomy training and ability to work calmly under pressure to the community phlebotomy team.
